DescriptionThe rug is made up of three strips joined by stitching. The foliage and flower designs are in yellow, two shades of blue, green, and white. A band of inscription framing the medallion gives the name of the weaver and the date she made the rug. The guard band displays a continuous line of eight-pointed stars within circles.Analysis by Charles Grant Ellis, July 1976: Warp Z fine ivory linen; weft fine ivory linen x 2; pile weft 4Z wool in each color brought forward in loops as needed. Loops spaced at intervals of 2 (upper) warps.
Loops per square inch: 7 1/2 loops H x 7V or 53 to the square inch.
Sides have modern overcasting. At ends: about 1 inch of balanced plain weave of ivory linen, hemmed under modern binding.
Colors: Ivory; golden yellow; light medium brick red; dark blue; light blue; dull dark green.
